My logos are more than just a pretty picture. During my logo design process, I help you to first define your brand, so that the designs that I create for you can communicate your business's message to your target audience through their icon design, font choice and color palette. That way, the logo can do more than be "just pretty".

Small Business Logo Design

When I design a logo for a small business, I start off by working on some of the "definition" elements around your business's brand, so that once we do design your logo, it's sure to stand out from your competition, connect with your target market and really express what your business is all about.

So, there's a little more to it than just the design process itself — I help you to do a little conceptual branding first. I do that by having you fill out my "Define Your Difference" Branding Workbook.

Once you've completed the full questionnaire, I'll review it to pull out your business's Brand Definition: Who You Are, What You Do, What Makes You Different and Who You Can Best Help. You'll have a chance to review and approve the Brand Definition before I get started on the logo designs, to make sure that it's accurate and complete.

Your logo's job is to communicate the first 3 parts of your Brand Definition: Who You Are, What You Do, and What Makes You Different to those people Who You Can Best Help. That's why it's so critical to have a complete Brand Definition before getting started on the logo design.

Once we start into the design process, I have developed an in-depth design process for logos that breaks the design process up into several steps, so that we are sure to thoroughly explore all of the design options for your logo. First I'll work on the symbol piece of your logo, and once we have that, we'll then address the font. Once the logo is complete in black and white, we'll work on color.

You can see samples of my logo designs on my website, in the portfolio section. There are more examples of logo designs in the Custom Marketing Package and Visual Vocabulary sections of my portfolio. Here are the direct links to all of those sections:
